On Friday, March 23, 2012, we poured the concrete in our footings. Here is a time-lapse of the pour.
Prepping for Rain
After a week of trying to prepare the “dirt,” we had to quickly cover the footings to guard against an oncoming storm.
Fabricated Steel
Cleaning Out Footings
God is always good, but has shown Himself especially strong in many ways this past month on the construction site. Praise the Lord that we received the bond money and were able to pay for the steel (the most expensive part of our entire building project) about a week and a half ago! It has been ordered and is being fabricated right now.
In light of the steel fabricated and one its way soon, there was much that needed (and still needs to be) done on the construction site. Praise the Lord for our men coming out on Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday to get a huge portion of the preparation for the concrete pour done!
Below are the jobs that our faithful men have completed already:
- All electrical trenches were cleaned out.
- Plumbing trenches were backfilled and compacted.
- All interior footings were cleaned out and rebar was put in.
- Large rebar cages were pulled out and footings cleaned out.
- We have wire brushed 65% of all rebar.
- Electrical footing was cleared out of mud and dug to the correct depth.
- The elevator pit was marked out.
- All trench footings were cleaned out and squared up.
- Site cleanup and organization was done.
Thank you for doing your part! Please continue to earnestly pray, give, and come out to work so that we can see our new building built for God’s glory!
First Bond Draw
Praise the Lord that our bond money of $1 million came in! We have already purchased the steel and will be expecting it to come within the next month. As we are in preparation for this, we will need as many volunteers as possible.
