Mt. Zion, Drawings, and Grading

  • We had a great week on the job site this past week.
  • We hauled many, many loads of dirt out.
  • Donna Rallonza has also been working very hard on completing our drawings. She has recently completed the ceiling plan and the door and window schedules.
  • The building drawings are being finalized and it’s exciting to see all the final details.
  • Please pray for God’s favor as we have resumed grading and compacting this week.

Mt. Zion and Our Loan

  • Last week we were able to continue to haul dirt out to signal hill.
  • The oil operator’s lot also opened up. We are now able to export dirt out to a location that is even closer on Wardlow Road right next to Pastor’s house!
  • Thank you to Oil Operators Inc!
  • We are also had several meetings with lenders, please pray as we are getting close to selecting which lender we will be using.
  • The site is drying up, but we still have a lot of work to go to get it back to where it needs to be. Please contact Richard Lazo if you are interested in helping out during the next few weeks.
  • A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE MEN WHO HAVE COME AND HELPED!!!

First Update of the Year

  • We had a great week on the job site!
  • Our volunteer men are still able to use the CAT loader for free—this week we saved $400 day in rental fees!
  • A man by the name of Tony from System Maintenance in Signal Hill is assisting us in the process to save by allowing us to continue using the loader free of charge.
  • We give a great BIG THANK YOU to our drivers who volunteered last week.
  • The site is coming together as “Mount Zion” is diminishing.
  • Please continue to pray for continued progress as “severe weather” continues to persist.

Christmas Week Update

  • We need to haul out several hundred loads of soil. We have been praying and looking for a location that is close by the jobsite.
  • God opened up Signal Hill Petroleum and a horse ranch. Both locations are a mile away!
  • Praise God for our men! Oscar Torres and Ivan Esquivel worked hard at driving our dump truck.
  • We had many other men show up every day to help us load the dirt and get the truck turned around quickly for the next dump.

December 3

  • This week we awarded the steel building contract to ROC Construction. They are a dealer of NUCOR Prefab Buildings.
  • Not only has NUCOR been highly recommended, but they also brought prices down to cost. Other bids were above $1 million. ROC Construction came in at $650,000.
  • We also received our grading permit—Praise the Lord! Albert helped us by pulling this permit.
  • Paul Weeks from the CLAIM Team is assembling a crew of men to come from Georgia to perform our site grading. These men are grading contractors by trade and will be able to come into town and knock out this project for us!
  • The Claim Team will help save us tens of thousands of dollars in the grading and in the future on our project.
